Neighbours who have been living in the Statenkwartier a little bit longer will perhaps remember Odin as Gaia. In 2013 the former owner retired and she was looking for a good party to take over. The principles and ideals of Odin fitted well with those of Gaia.
Odin is an organic supermarket and is part of an organic food-cooperation with thousands of members throughout the Netherlands. The members are part-owner of the enterprise and have a say in the running of it. The cooperation is not about making a profit. Money is seen as a means to accomplish ideals. The thought behind Odin is to produce good food, produced as healthy and honestly as possible. This is a supermarket with ideals.
The products sold here are produced with care. They are of a high quality. Everything here is 100% organic and preferably biodynamic. The vegetable department is known for her quality and appearance.
Odin has a personal bond with the customers ánd with the suppliers. Often they have known each other for years. Odin wants to continue its involvement to get the best organic products for a fair price, taking into account the customer and supplier. Odin is after a sustainable food chain or in other words a healthy chain “from stable to table”. The supermarket fits in well on the Aert van der Goesstraat , where there is a lot of attention for craftsmanship, traditional skills and sustainability.
