A passion for cooking: that is what the people at Warung de Javaan have. De Javaan ( the Javanese) in short. A small toko, specialised in preparing Javanese dishes. You can eat at the restaurant but you can also take-away dishes and whole meals. De Javaan has a catering service as well. A small sample of the dishes : sayur lodeh, orak arik, terong blado, katjang panjang, blado sapi, ayam semur, udang peteh and sambal goreng udang Javaan. On offer are various dishes that change regularly.
A customer-friendly atmosphere is a trademark of De Javaan. Just like the other businesses on the Aert van der Goesstraat customers keep coming back. “Best toko in the Hague” is the opinion of a customer on the toko’s Facebook page. And that is really saying something with so many tokos and Indonesian restaurants in the Hague. Other customers: “heavenly food, a real sensation to your taste buds, a feast in your mouth, fantastic great food and friendly people, or just delicious”! Another customer has a warning: always order double portions with your take-away because…………oh dear, you have already eaten half of it on the way home.
We are very proud of our vegetarian products, like our vegetable dishes. According to some customers even Dutch sprouts get an “indo-taste”. They fit in well at the “Aert” with its sustainable, traditional and tasty offerings.
A summary of what is on offer at De Javaan?: “Indo Bites in a customer friendly atmosphere”.
