Aert van der Goesstraat ‘Summer Festival’
On the 8th September, the Artisanal craft stands central to the Aert van der Goes Summer Festival.
Most of you may not immediately know where the Aert van de Goesstraat is but I’m sure you know it! It is the first section of The Fred; just before the playground, known from the – just renewed- Old Jazz, Bagels & Beans and the French bakery where every Saturday long rows of expats gather for fresh baguettes.
A special group of artisans is concentrated on this piece of The Fred. Think of the only Poulterer in The Hague where you can order an ajam kodok, a real goldsmith, the organic butcher and Magdelijns floors; who for generations have made beautiful parquet floors.
To highlight their crafts, the shopkeepers from this street will give various demonstrations, workshops and presentations.
For example, barista workshops, silversmithing demonstrations, floor laying and tea tastings will be given. In addition, there are of course many more snacks and drinks.
To top it all off, the residents’ association organizes a street party at the same time with a real stage, a talent show and many local artists.
You are cordially invited!
